Welcome.
I’m glad you’re here.
I am a Naturopathic Doctor with a special interest in mental health and trauma.
The mind and the body are intricately and intimately linked, and we cannot heal one without the other.
Medicine that focuses on identifying problems in the body or the mind exclusively is limited, out-dated, and not your best chance at feeling the way you want to feel.
I operate through a trauma-informed lens. This doesn’t mean you have to have trauma to work with me, it just means that I show up with compassion for the ways in which we are all struggling, and that I will meet you where you’re at and support you there, with consideration for the challenging aspects of life.
I believe my role is to empower you with the tools and strength to be able to learn, heal, grow and I LOVE my job.
I believe the health of an individual is intimately and inseparably linked to the world around them.
I believe health is political.
I believe humans heal best in relationship with others, and connection to a healthy community is the key to health.
I believe permission to choose what happens to your body is a fundamental human right.
I have lived through trauma, have firsthand experience of its impact on our lives, and understand how vital it is to be aware of that impact.
I am an intersectional feminist.
I am a loud supporter of LGBTQ2S+ health and rights.
I work hard to be inclusive, supportive and uplifting of BIPOC individuals, sex-workers, and other oppressed minorities, and to inform myself on the ways in which they are oppressed.
I am body-positive and support the HAES movement.
I am sex-positive and don’t believe there is one correct relationship structure we should all be subscribing to.
I don't really care about white coats, or “business attire”.
I speak casually with my students and patients, swear sometimes, and show up as authentically and honestly as possible, both at work and in my personal life.
I strongly believe that the best way to heal is not through force, but through compassion and curiousity, and that if I’m doing my job correctly, then [eventually] you won’t need me anymore.
Your body knows how to heal. We just have to remove the obstacles in its path, and make sure it has the tools it needs to move forward.
And this doesn’t just apply to mental health!
Every week in clinic, I work with athletes, entrepreneurs, creatives and professionals who are looking to optimize their performance, as well as individuals struggling with fatigue, insomnia, hormonal imbalance, digestive issues, auto-immune diseases, weight loss and skin disorders.
Not sure if we’d be a good fit? Book yourself in for a 15-minute complementary consultation and we can chat about it!
The fine print.
I am a licensed and registered naturopathic doctor in Vancouver, BC, and a member in good standing with the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC), the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and the British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCNA).
I have my pharmaceutical prescribing license, as well as my acupuncture and immunization certifications.
I have an Honours Bachelor of Science Kinesiology (H.BSc.Kin) degree from McMaster University and work frequently with athletes.
I combine diagnostic assessment, including physical exams and laboratory tests to build comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plans. The primary modalities I use are clinical nutrition and dietary recommendations, nutritional supplementation, botanical medicine, exercise prescription and mental/emotional counselling and lifestyle coaching.
